Return Policy

Return & Cancellation Policy – Amelia & Rose Boston
By completing your purchase at Amelia & Rose Boston, you accept our terms of purchase, our return policy, and our cancellation policy. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and explicitly agreed to all terms outlined below. These terms form a binding agreement between you (the customer) and Amelia & Rose Boston.

1. Return to International Distribution Center (China)
Our warehouse for return processing and quality control is located in China.
Full Cost Responsibility: The customer bears full responsibility for all shipping costs to our warehouse in China. We do not provide prepaid return labels.
Customs and Fees: The customer is responsible for ensuring the return is declared correctly. Any import duties, customs fees, or administrative charges incurred when the package reaches China will be deducted from the refund.
Acknowledgment of International Return Location: The customer expressly acknowledges and accepts that returns must be shipped internationally to China, and that this may involve significant shipping costs, extended transit times (typically 3–8 weeks), and customs procedures. By completing the purchase, the customer waives any claim that the international return location constitutes an unreasonable barrier to return.

2. Inspection and Handling Fee
Processing Fee: To cover the costs of manual inspection, repackaging, and administrative handling, we apply a standard handling deduction of $18 per package.
Condition Requirement: If an item is returned with traces of use (scents, stains, or damaged original packaging), the refund may be denied or reduced by up to 100%.
Original Shipping Costs: Original shipping and handling costs paid at the time of purchase are non-refundable under any circumstances, except where required by applicable mandatory consumer law.
Restocking Fee: In addition to the handling fee, a restocking fee of up to 15% of the item value may be applied to returns of multiple items, bulk orders, or items returned outside the standard return window.

3. Tracking Requirements (Track & Trace)
Mandatory Tracking: All returns must be sent using a trackable shipping method.
Proof of Delivery: A return is only considered complete once the package has been received and signed for at our warehouse. Without a valid proof of delivery, no refund can be issued if the package is lost in transit.
Insurance Recommendation: We strongly recommend that customers insure their return shipment for the full value of the goods. Amelia & Rose Boston accepts no liability for returns lost, damaged, or delayed in transit.

4. Mandatory Contact
Before shipping a return, you must contact us at info@ameliarose-boston.com to receive specific instructions and a unique return case number.
Returns sent without prior contact or a return case number will not be identified and cannot be refunded.
Please allow up to 72 hours for a response.
Return Window: All return requests must be initiated within 14 days of the delivery date confirmed by the carrier’s tracking record. Return requests submitted after this window will not be accepted, except where required by applicable mandatory consumer law. Once a return case number is issued, the package must be shipped and handed over to the carrier within 7 calendar days, with proof of postmark provided.
Forfeiture: Returns received at our warehouse without a valid return case number, or outside the timeframes set forth above, may be refused, returned to sender at the customer’s expense, or held for 30 days before being destroyed without refund.

5. Disputes and Chargebacks
Administrative Fee: For unfounded disputes where the customer has not followed our established return process, we reserve the right to charge the customer for the administrative costs imposed on us by the payment provider (ranging from $25 to $50 per case).

Pre-Dispute Resolution: The customer agrees to contact Amelia & Rose Boston in writing at info@ameliarose-boston.com and allow a minimum of 14 calendar days for resolution before initiating any chargeback, payment dispute, or third-party complaint. Initiating a chargeback without first attempting resolution constitutes a breach of these terms.
Evidence Submission: In the event of a dispute, Amelia & Rose Boston reserves the right to submit all relevant evidence to the payment provider, including order records, delivery confirmation, customer communications, IP address logs, and acceptance-of-terms records.

Recovery of Costs: In addition to the administrative fee, the customer agrees to be liable for any legal fees, collection costs, and reasonable expenses incurred in defending an unfounded chargeback.

6. Hygiene Exceptions
For hygiene reasons, returns are not accepted for underwear, swimwear, beauty products, or earrings if the seal or original packaging has been broken.
Final Sale Items: Sale items, clearance items, promotional items, gift cards, and personalized or custom-made products are considered final sale and are non-returnable and non-refundable, except where the item is defective.

7. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Within 12 Hours: Orders may be cancelled free of charge within 12 hours of order confirmation, provided the order has not yet entered the fulfillment process. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to info@ameliarose-boston.com and are only valid once confirmed in writing by Amelia & Rose Boston.

Cancellation After 12 Hours: After the 12-hour window has elapsed, orders are considered final and cannot be cancelled as a matter of right. In exceptional circumstances, and entirely at the sole discretion of Amelia & Rose Boston, a late cancellation may be granted subject to a non-refundable cancellation fee of 20% of the total order value, provided the order has not yet been shipped.
Once Shipped: Once an order has been handed over to the carrier, it can no longer be cancelled under any circumstances and must be processed through the standard return procedure outlined in Sections 1 through 6.
Definition of Order Confirmation: The 12-hour cancellation window begins at the timestamp of the automated order confirmation email, regardless of when the customer reads it.

8. Defective or Incorrect Items
In the rare event that an item arrives defective or materially different from its product description, the customer must notify Amelia & Rose Boston within 7 days of delivery, accompanied by clear photographic evidence and the order number. Claims submitted after this window or without supporting evidence may be rejected. Resolution may include, at our discretion, a replacement, partial refund, or full refund. Minor variations in color, texture, fit, or measurement consistent with handcrafted or photographed product representations do not constitute a defect.

9. Refund Processing
Approved refunds are processed within 14 business days of the return being received, inspected, and approved at our warehouse. Refunds are issued exclusively to the original payment method. Amelia & Rose Boston is not responsible for delays caused by banks, card issuers, or payment processors.
10. Acceptance of Terms
By completing checkout and confirming the purchase, the customer:
(a) confirms they have read and understood the entire return and cancellation policy;
(b) agrees to be bound by all terms set forth herein;
(c) waives any claim that they were not adequately informed of these terms; and
(d) acknowledges that these terms are reasonable and necessary given the nature of international e-commerce.

11. Severability and Modifications
If any provision of this policy is found to be unenforceable under applicable mandatory consumer law in the customer’s jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. Amelia & Rose Boston reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. The version in effect at the time of order placement governs the transaction.

12. Mandatory Consumer Rights Notice
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit or exclude any non-waivable statutory rights the customer may have under applicable consumer protection law in their country of residence. Where mandatory consumer law conflicts with these terms, the mandatory law prevails for that specific provision only.
13.
All Sale items are ineligible for refunds, and all sales are final. Sale items are available for exchange within Amelia & Roses discrepancy.
